The 60th Raising Day of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was celebrated on 24 October 2021. Earlier It is also known that the Indo-Tibetan Border (ITBP) is a CAPF under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
ITBP was established on 24 October 1962 during the Indo-China war and is a Border Security Police Force. Who has expertise in high-altitude missions.
At present the AOR (Area of Responsibility) of ITBP for the security of 3488 km of Indo-China border from Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police are also deployed in matters such as anti-Naxal operations and internal security issues. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police were initially established under the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Act 1949.
Although the "Indo-Tibetan Border Police Act" was implemented in the Parliament in the year 1992 and rules were made regarding it in the year 1994.
Other Central Armed Police Forces are Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), National Security Guard (NSG), Assam Rifle, RPF, and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
