President's Color Award given to INS Hans

On September 8, 2021 the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces and President of India Ram Nath Kovind presented the President's Color Award or Flag to INS Hansa (Indian National Aviation based in Goa) to a military unit in recognition of the exceptional service rendered by the President in both peace and war situations.

The Indian Navy was the first Indian Armed Forces to receive the flag from Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the then President of India, on 27 May 1951, followed by the design of the Presidential Flag in the Navy, Southern Naval Command, Western Naval Command, Eastern Fleet, Western Fleet. , Submarine Branch, INS Shivaji, and Indian Naval Academy

 Naval Aviation has distinguished itself with remarkable and gallant service to the nation over the last 7 decades. This branch came into existence with the acquisition of the first Sea-Land Department on 13 January 1951 and INS Garuda, Kochi on 11 May 1953.

Presently Naval Aviation with nine Air Force Stations and three Naval Air Enclaves provides strong security to the Indian coast, especially the Andaman and Nicobar Deep Group.
