The armies of China, Mongolia, Thailand, and Pakistan will participate in a multinational peacekeeping exercise called "Shared Destiny-2021". It was announced on 26 August. It will be conducted by the People's Liberation Army at the Joint Arms Strategic Training Base in China's central Henan province from 6 to 15 September 2021. This is the first multinational peacekeeping exercise involving 4 nations.

All participating countries will send around 1000 troops to be part of the exercise. 1,000 troops will include units of infantry, security rapid response, engineering, helicopters, transport, and medical services.

The exercise will be conducted in a near-real-time war zone environment that will be set as per international, professional, and realistic warfare standards.

In this peacekeeping exercise, battlefield reconnaissance, security guards and patrols, protection of civilians, response to violent, and terrorist attacks, creation of temporary operation bases and battlefield first aid, and epidemic control will create a battlefield environment.

Henan Province is the birthplace of Chinese civilization, which has a recorded history of more than 3000 years, making it the cultural, economic, and political center of China until about 1000 years ago.
