The YJ- 83anti-ship bullet measures6.38 measures in length with a periphery of 360 millimeters and a wingspan of 1,220 millimeters. It operates at cruising mound between 20- 30 measures, dropping to 5- 7 measures in its terminal phase. 

The bullet can achieve pets of Mach0.9 in voyage and Mach1.4 during its terminal phase. It employs an inertial navigation system paired with active radar homing for terminal guidance. The YJ- 83 has an functional range that varies, depending on the model, from 120 km to 230 km. 

Its warhead also varies by model the YJ- 83 features a 190 kg grandly-explosive fragmentation warhead, whereas the YJ- 83K is equipped with a 165 kg grandly-explosive,semi-armour piercing warhead. The bullet is powered by a CTJ- 2 turbojet machine and can be launched from both land and air platforms.

 Type 056 

The bullet's launching platform, the Type 056 corvette, known as the Jiangdao- class corvette in NATO parlance, is a vessel used by the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy( PLAN).

Her artillery includes an AK- 176 76 mm gun, two H/ PJ- 17 30 mm autocannons, two 2- cell YJ- 83anti-ship bullet launchers, an 8- cell FL- 3000N SAM launcher, and two sets of triadic 324 mm torpedo tubes. also, the corvette has a heliport, suitable for a medium- lift copter like the Harbin Z- 9.
