Divyang set a world record: Climb the Siachen Glacier at a height of 15,632 feet in 13 days

On one hand, in Tokyo Paralympics, where players created a new record by winning 19 medals, the other hand, team of disabled has once again given the country a chance to be proud. The specially-abled people, who set out for their triple world record under Operation Blue Freedom, have crossed the first stop. A team of 8 Divyangs finally created a world record by reaching the highest peak of Siachen Glacier at 15,632 feet within 13 days. After getting one destination, now the same team will fulfill the passion of setting two more world records for scuba diving in the open sea of   Maldives and para jumping in Dubai.

Will make triple world record under Operation Blue Freedom

Actually, under Operation Blue Freedom, records have been set on land, water, and air. Under this, this team of 8 specially-abled people had set goals to set a triple elemental world record for measuring the height of Siachen Glacier, scuba diving in the open sea of   Maldives, and para jumping in Dubai. For this, the Government of India recently signed “Conker Land Air Water” (CLAW) to lead this team of differently-abled.

The climb started from Siachen Base Camp on 1st September

To set its first world record, the team started the climb from Siachen Base Camp on 1st September. During the climb, the team faced the challenges of rapidly changing weather, glacier winds, scorching sun, and bone freezing cold with unprecedented grit and determination. The deep crevices of the glacier, the icy glacial currents challenged the especially impaired and foot-impaired, testing the physical and mental stamina of the team members.

CLAW, a group of veterans of the Indian Armed Forces, has taken the responsibility of providing land, air, and water training to this team of differently-abled for the "Triple World Records" campaign. Members of the group have coached the team in sky diving, scuba diving, and mountaineering to set all three world records. Major Vivek Jacob, a former Para Officer leading the team of Persons with Disabilities, has established “Conker Land Air Water” (CLAW), which is helping the differently-abled to make this challenging task possible. The organization comprises veterans of the Indian Army's Special Forces.

Siachen temperature below 50 degrees Celsius

The Siachen Glacier is located in the eastern Karakoram range in the Himalayas, where the Line of Control between India and Pakistan end.

The second-longest glacier in non-polar regions

He pointed out that the Karakoram Range separates the Eurasian Plate from the Indian subcontinent in the glaciated part is sometimes called the "Third Pole". It is the second-longest glacier in the non-polar regions of the world.
